The Ghost

Sarra Richmond  /  The Ghost  /  A 4-week authority strategy programme

Your reputation should not be the least accurate thing about you.

You have done the work. You have the experience, the judgement and the stories that only come from being inside difficult problems for years. People who know you understand your value. The trouble is, too many of the right people do not.

They see a consultant. A strategist. An adviser. A founder. A coach. One more capable person using the same broad language as everybody else.

Your expertise is real. Its shape is not yet clear enough for the market to recognise, remember or repeat.

Be Known is a 4-week authority strategy programme for people whose reputation has not caught up with their thinking. Together we decide what you should be known for, who needs to know it, and how to make that authority commercially useful.

Book a Vibe Check

20 minutes. No performance, no hard sell. We work out whether the problem is one this programme is designed to solve.

The actual problem

Being good is not the same as being known for being good.

You may already be visible. You publish. You speak. You have a decent network. People refer work to you. But ask 5 people what you are known for and the answers begin to wander.

  1. One remembers the job you left 3 years ago.
  2. One describes the broad category you work in.
  3. One sends you work you have outgrown.
  4. One says "you should talk to them, they're brilliant", then discovers that brilliance is not a particularly useful search term.
  5. One has no idea how to explain why you are different from the next credible expert.

This is not necessarily a visibility problem. More content will not fix an unclear association. It may simply distribute the confusion more efficiently.

The real problem is recognition. Your market cannot yet connect your name to a specific, valuable piece of authority. That affects how people introduce you, what they refer you for, which opportunities find you, how quickly buyers understand your value, what your content accumulates into, and how confidently you can move into more senior or advisory work.

Interchangeable is a choice. Usually an accidental one, made slowly, by using the same words as everybody else for long enough.

What we are actually building

You do not need to be known by everyone.

You need the right people to associate your name with something valuable. Not a fabricated niche. Not a heroic tagline. Not a "personal brand" assembled from adjectives you would never say aloud. A credible authority territory, built from your actual experience and connected to a problem your market cares about.

By the end you will know

The aim is not to make you sound more impressive. It is to make you more accurately understood.

Fit

Whether this is your problem.

This is for you if

  • You have earned a point of view, but it is scattered across years of work, client conversations, half-finished notes and things you say in rooms but have never properly named
  • You are known for several disconnected things
  • You are referred for work you no longer want
  • You are moving into a more senior or advisory market
  • You are producing content without building a recognisable association
  • You are visible, respected, and still oddly difficult to describe
  • You are better understood by existing clients than by the market you want next

It is not for you if

  • You are still deciding what business to start
  • You want a tagline without making strategic choices
  • You need somebody to invent opinions for you
  • You want instant audience growth or guaranteed leads
  • You are unwilling to choose who matters most
  • Your real problem is an incoherent offer, insufficient evidence or weak commercial demand

Authority strategy cannot rescue something that people do not need. This programme is designed for problems of articulation, distinction, recognition and activation. The strongest fit is someone who already has the expertise. Now it needs to become legible.

The work

4 weeks. 4 decisions.

4 working sessions of 90 minutes, with strategic synthesis between them and written decisions after each one.

01

Excavation

We find the authority already present in your work. Your experience, judgement, recurring patterns, client evidence, strongest stories and the ideas you keep returning to.

We separate the things you know from the things you have merely learned to say.

02

Distinction

We choose your authority territory, your priority audience, the problem worth owning, your deeper diagnosis, and what belongs inside the position and what does not. You leave with a working authority proposition and a clear reason for building it.

This is the week where several perfectly respectable ideas may be asked to leave the building.

03

Articulation

We turn the chosen territory into a language system: your one-sentence authority statement, a conversational explanation, your central diagnosis, 3 to 5 core convictions, signature concepts, introduction and referral language, and the proof beneath your important claims.

One heroic tagline will not be asked to carry your professional life on its back.

04

Activation

We turn the position into behaviour. What needs repeating, what you should publish and discuss, which relationships matter, how the authority connects to your offer, and what a sustainable week actually looks like. You leave with a practical 90-day plan.

We are not constructing a personal media empire by Thursday. We are building enough repetition for the right people to remember the right thing.

05

Final handover

I complete your Authority Blueprint and take you through it in a dedicated 60-minute session. We test whether the thinking now belongs to you, not whether you have memorised the document. You should be able to use the strategy in introductions, referrals, content, conversations and commercial decisions without needing me in the room.

Included

What you actually receive.

The programme runs over approximately 5 weeks, including onboarding and handover.

What is not included

This is a complete authority strategy, not an all-purpose marketing suitcase. It does not include full website copy, a rewritten LinkedIn profile, visual identity, ongoing content production, social media management, lead generation, large-scale market research, additional stakeholder workshops, unlimited revisions, or guaranteed enquiries.

If you want support implementing the strategy, we can discuss that after the handover. The Blueprint is designed to stand on its own.

Does any of this work

Being straight about where these come from: they are the results of the writing, not of this programme. The writing is done through The Run, the ongoing partnership that sits after this. What this programme produces is the position all of that writing is built on, which is the part nobody can outsource and the part that decides whether any of the volume is worth anything. The full before-and-after numbers are here.

The investment

Two rates. One programme.

Founders £2,000

The complete 4-week programme, the handover session and your Authority Blueprint.

Leaders and businesses £3,500

The same programme, scoped for a leadership role or a business where the position has to survive more than one person using it.

VAT added where applicable. Payable before the programme begins.

Why this is not 4 coaching calls.

You are not buying meeting time. You are buying decisions. Decisions about what your experience means, which part of it matters commercially, how it should be understood, what supports it, and how to make it recognisable.

The work can affect how you are introduced, referred, remembered, published, positioned and sold.

The final Authority Blueprint is not a decorative record of our conversations. It is a decision document for the reputation you are building next.

Who you would be working with

About Sarra.

Sarra Richmond

I am Sarra Richmond, founder of The Ghost. My work sits where thinking, authority, language and commercial usefulness meet. I have spent years helping experienced people uncover the valuable thing underneath the obvious thing, then giving it a shape other people can understand.

I am not here to inflate your expertise or manufacture a louder version of you. I bring structure, challenge, synthesis and a well-developed intolerance for language that sounds correct but says nothing.

You bring the experience, judgement and occasionally inconvenient truth. Together, we find the thing underneath all the things.

Reasonable questions

Before you book.

Is this positioning, personal branding or content strategy?
It sits before the execution layer of all three. This establishes the authority you are building, the audience it matters to, the language that carries it and the proof that supports it. Your profile, website, content and sales conversations can then express one coherent position.
Will you write my website or LinkedIn profile?
Not as part of this programme. You will leave with the language system and strategic decisions those assets need. Writing or implementation can be scoped separately.
What if I have several areas of expertise?
Most experienced people do. The work is not to deny your range. It is to choose the association that gives the range a useful centre of gravity.
Does this guarantee leads?
No. It creates the strategic conditions for clearer recognition, stronger referrals and more relevant commercial conversations. You still have to make the authority visible and participate in the market.
What happens after the 4 weeks?
You can implement the Blueprint independently. You can retain me for strategic implementation support while you or your team execute. Or we can build an ongoing authority and writing partnership through The Run. The right choice depends on your capacity. The strategy itself will be complete.
How much work is required between sessions?
Roughly 30 to 60 minutes each week for focused exercises, plus the time needed to supply relevant material before we begin. This is working strategy. Your participation matters.
